KingSpry proudly congratulates Kent Herman, a former managing partner and one of the founding partners of the law firm, who has been named to the 2024 ICON Honors list by the editors of Lehigh Valley Business.
ICON Honors recognizes Lehigh Valley business leaders over the age of 60 for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership, both within and outside of their chosen field.
This award coincides with the celebration of a personal milestone – Kent has been practicing law for 50 years this year, and the law firm he helped to forge will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year as well.
“Building a major regional law firm requires patience, vision and business acumen. I think KingSpry has flourished because of the commitment of the founding partners to create a law firm that provides not only excellent service for its clients, but also opportunities for its attorneys and a collegial work environment,” Kent says.
Over the course of his legal career, Kent has litigated hundreds of matters before juries in State and Federal Courts. He has arbitrated and/or mediated complex construction, employment and insurance disputes resulting in favorable results for both plaintiffs and defendants. Some of his most significant work has been representing housing authorities and affordable housing developers in general legal and regulatory matters.
“No matter where your career takes you, you have the primary responsibility to be proactive and to identify what you are doing that meets both the needs of yourself and the team. The things you need to be successful aren’t going to be dropped in your lap,” Kent says, “I see the future as being very bright as there are a lot of people that really go the extra mile to make this place work the way it should work.”
Deeply committed to his community, Kent volunteers with Meals on Wheels and has also been a member of the Board of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission for the past 15 years.
