KingSpry Firm History

The attorneys and counselors of King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC, and its predecessors have served public and private sector clients in the Lehigh Valley and Eastern Pennsylvania for nearly 60 years.

1961

E. Drummond King begins practicing law, pioneering the first bond counsel practice in the Lehigh Valley, a team that has, in years since, been instrumental in financing the projects of cities, schools and local authorities.

1973

Donald Spry and Edmund Turtzo join forces in the town of Bangor. In the years that follow, they team up with Domenic Sbrocchi and Terence Faul.

January 2001

King, Herman, Freund, Swartz & Reid and Turtzo, Spry, Sbrocchi, Faul and LaBarre merge; KingSpry is born. The firm moves to combined offices in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

July 2002

Jerome and Paul Frank of the former Allentown flagship firm Frank, Frank, Penn and Frank, join the firm.

January 2004

Kirby Upright and his team join from Monroe County, expanding the Estate and Trust division.

2006

Our Education Law Practice Group begins publishing School Law Bullets. Municipal Minutes, Law at Work, and other newsletters follow, all designed to help keep clients informed on legal developments in their areas of interest.

2007

KingSpry forms an affiliation with the Law Offices of Ira Weiss in Pittsburgh, of the firm now known as Weiss Burkardt Kramer, LLC.

January 2008

Kristine Roddick and Dorota Gasienica-Kozak are the first women to be named KingSpry Partners

June 2008

KingSpry establishes Greyfriars Institute, a conference center providing regular interpretations of real-world legal topics, low-cost professional development seminars and workshops. That same month, the firm takes over a second floor in the building at Broad Street in Bethlehem.

January 2009

Greyfriars presents its first program as a PDE-approved Act 48 Professional Education Provider.

December 2009

KingSpry names Kevin C. Reid Managing Partner.

2012

KingSpry expands family legal services to include Adoption/Assisted Reproductive Technology Law.

Summer 2012

After successful expansion of our blogs and the advent of a KingSpry You Tube channel, KingSpry sends its first “tweet.” (@King_Spry_Law)

November 2014

Senior partner Jerome B. Frank celebrates 50 years in practice by taking his family to a hockey game in the arena he helped to build.

June 2018

KingSpry celebrates 10 years of providing legal education for clients through Greyfriars Institute.

January 2021

KingSpry celebrates 20 years of providing legal services since the original merger of our two parent firms.
