Celebrating World IVF Day

Every year on July 25^th, World IVF Day is observed to recognize the advances made in fertility medicine since the birth of Louise Brown, who was the first human born after conception by in vitro fertilization (IVF).

KingSpry’s Adoption and ART Practice Chair, Dorota Gasienica-Kozak, Esq., has been following the latest legislation impacting IVF and alternative reproductive technology (ART) services in our heARTbeat publications.

In May, Ms. Gasienica-Kozak reviewed the proposed Access to Family Building Act of 2024 (the “Act”) and discussed what it means for the future of ART services nationwide. If passed, the Act will establish the statutory right to access IVF and other ART services.

Yesterday, on July 24, 2024, Representative Susan Wild (PA 7^th District) filed a discharge petition on the Act, which would require Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, to present the Act to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote.
