The new 2020 Title IX Regulations require training for Title IX Coordinators, their designees, and all others involved in resolving Title IX complaints of sexual harassment, in all educational institutions receiving federal funding. The goal of the training is to protect the safety of students, ensure due process protections for all parties, and promote accountability. Training materials must be available for inspection at public request.
The training will include all the requirements of Title IX Section 106.45(b)(1)(iii), including an overview of the Title IX definitions and the new Regulations, conducting investigations and grievance processes including hearings and relevance of questions and evidence, appeals, and informal resolution processes. The training will also discuss serving impartially, avoiding bias, prejudgments, and conflicts of interest. Writing investigative and determination reports will be covered.
