KingSpry Congratulates Partners Named to 2025 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America®

Posted on August 15th, 2024

KingSpry is proud to announce that three of our attorneys, Jessica F. Moyer (Education Law), Donald F. Spry, II (Family Law) and Kirby G. Upright, LLM, CPA, (Trusts and Estates Law) have been named to the 2025 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America®.

Inclusion in Best Lawyers is based on a rigorous, confidential peer-review survey.

Jessica F. Moyer is Managing Partner of the KingSpry law firm. This is her first time being named to the list.

A woman with shoulder-length wavy brown hair, wearing a navy blazer and a gray top, smiles warmly at the camera. The background is softly focused with neutral-colored walls and large windows, suggesting an indoor office setting.

Attorney Moyer splits her legal practice between family and education law. As solicitor for numerous public school districts, Moyer advises school boards, directors and administrators, appearing on their behalf before state and local administrative agencies and courts. She gives back to her community volunteering as a trustee for the Parkland Education Foundation.

A frequent speaker and published author, she is a council member of the Family Law Council of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and in 2018, she was honored with the PBA President’s Award for her work with the association’s Good Governance Task Force. Moyer has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Super Lawyer Magazine. She has also been named to the “Power List,” “Power List in Law,” “40 Under Forty” and a “Woman of Influence” by Lehigh Valley Business. She has appeared on Array Digital’s “Managing Partners Podcast” and is the executive producer of KingSpry’s education law podcast, the Legal Lunch Room.

She earned her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University.

Donald F. Spry, II is a founding member of the KingSpry law firm and has been named to the list since 2015.

A smiling elderly man with a graying beard and glasses is dressed in a dark suit, light dress shirt, and patterned tie. He stands indoors in front of a blurred background featuring glass windows and wooden frames.

He chairs the Family Law Practice Group and is also a member of the Education Law Practice Group. As a Pennsylvania Bar Institute faculty member, he lectures frequently on family law and also lectures on education law for other organizations.

Mr. Spry has represented public school district clients since 1973 as a solicitor and special counsel. In that capacity, he has advised school boards, directors, and administrators, and appeared on their behalf before state and local agencies and in Pennsylvania courts. He is a past president of the Northampton County Bar Association and is past chair of the NCBA Law and Family Court Rules Committee.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board hearing panel and is a biographee in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law. He was named a Super Lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine, is also listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers (Martindale-Hubbell).

A graduate of Moravian College, Mr. Spry earned his Juris Doctorate from University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In 2019, he was honored as a distinguished graduate of Moravian College at their Night of Stars event.

Kirby G. Upright holds a Masters of Laws (Taxation) as well as being a certified public accountant. He has been named to this list every year since 2005.

A smiling elderly man with gray hair and glasses is wearing a dark suit, a white dress shirt, and a blue patterned tie. He has an American flag pin on his suit lapel and is posed against a plain, light-colored background.

Mr. Upright takes particular pride in having been elected a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC), a prestigious organization to which only attorneys who meet certain exemplary standards are invited. He is one of only three attorneys in northeastern Pennsylvania and approximately 1500 ACTEC Fellows in the U.S.

Mr. Upright is a frequent lecturer on matters of estate planning and administration and regularly serves as a faculty member of and has authored many articles for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute as well as other professional organizations. He is the past chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Estate Planning Council.

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Upright earned his Juris Doctorate from Akron University School of Law and a Master of Law degree in Taxation from Temple University School of Law.
