Posted on September 29th, 2025

KingSpry partner Jonathan M. Huerta has been invited to be a panelist for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Personal Injury Law Conference on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

His session, “Municipal Liability and the Pennsylvania Political Tort Claims Act,” will provide a comprehensive overview of municipal liability in Pennsylvania under the Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act (PSTCA, 42 Pa.C.S. §§ 8541–8564).

The panel will discuss the scope of governmental immunity and statutory exceptions, procedural requirements as well as the cap on recoverable damages. The panelists will also provide useful strategies for prosecuting and defending these claims.

Attorney Huerta is chair of the firm’s Local Taxation and Assessment Practice Group. Concentrating his practice in the areas of litigation and education law, he is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is an active member of the Northampton County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, formerly serving as Chair of the NCBA Young Lawyers Division and Zone 2 Governor for the PBA. Huerta also serves on the board of the Cancer Support Community of the Lehigh Valley.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.

The conference will be webcast live. More information is available here: https://www.pbi.org/product/personal-injury-law-conference-2025/
