Avery E. Smith is a partner in the firm. She focuses her practice primarily on education law and business and employment matters for public and private sector clients. In addition, Ms. Smith handles trust and estate-related matters, drafting documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Ms. Smith earned her Juris Doctorate from Temple University, Beasley School of Law where she was the Comment Editor of Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review. She graduated cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and English, and with honors in the Government Department. In 2017 and 2018, Ms. Smith was named a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyer magazine, and in 2017, she was named to the list of “Select Lawyers” by Lehigh Valley Style Magazine.
A native to the Lehigh Valley, Ms. Smith especially enjoys her involvement in local community organizations, including her service as the former President of the Board of the Literacy Center in Allentown and her volunteer activities with the East Penn School District Foundation, the Lower Macungie Zoning Board, and the Allentown Rotary Foundation. As a member of the Bar Association of Lehigh County, she appeared in a public service video project funded by the Verizon Foundation, teaching children about the dangers of social media and online communications, found here. Ms. Smith established and is the former chair of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Franklin & Marshall College Alumni Association.
