The KingSpry law firm in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, announces founding partner John E. Freund, III, Esq. has been named Executive Director of Educational Development for the law firm.

Freund, who is Chair Emeritus of KingSpry’s Education Law Practice Group, has built a career of service to the educational institutions of Pennsylvania. Mr. Freund has substantial experience dealing with public entities, particularly education and matters affecting children. He regularly represents public schools, private schools and colleges on a wide range of legal concerns, including special education due process matters, in state and federal courts.
In this new role, Freund will expand upon his mentorship of other attorneys in the Education Law Practice Group, advising them on legal issues and client development. He will also continue to edit the firm’s education newsletter, School Law Bullets, and contribute topics for school law trainings and webinars. Additionally, he will chair a firmwide steering committee to explore new vehicles for reaching new client bases.
A former adjunct professor for East Stroudsburg University and frequent lecturer on topics related to his practice, Freund will continue to actively support his membership with educational organizations including the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitor’s Association (PSBSA) who recognized Freund in 2014 for his achievements in education law with the “President’s Award for Distinguished Career Achievement in School Law.”
