KingSpry congratulates Of Counsel Dr. Kathleen Conn who has been invited once again to be a Scholar-in-Residence at the Whiteley Center, an interdisciplinary study center within Friday Harbor Marine Laboratories, San Juan Island, off the coast of Seattle, Washington.
This is her fifth invitation to Whiteley.
The Whiteley Center provides cottages and study space for established scholars and artists to study, write, create, and interact in a peaceful and quiet environment. Scholars at the WC can work in quiet isolation, but also take advantage of opportunities to meet with other scholars and with scientists working at FHL. Dr. Conn will be working on a commentary for publication on student speech and the First Amendment, timely as the Supreme Court considers the Mahanoy School District case.
Dr. Conn plans to also take advantage of time to complete some watercolor paintings. This will be a shorter visit than prior visits; she plans to return at the end of June to present a scheduled training.
