KingSpry is proud to announce Episode Thirteen of our education law podcast, the Legal Lunch Room, “Back to School: Case Law Roundtable.”
Each episode, we invite education attorneys and school leaders to share how current education law trends and court decisions impact school boards, students and our community.

To kick off Season 3, Legal Lunch Room podcast host Jonathan Huerta welcomes Education Law Practice Group Chair Kristine Roddick, who moderates a panel of education attorneys, each reporting on a recent court case affecting Pennsylvania schools.
“The goal of this panel was to not just review the facts in each case,” Roddick notes, “but to get to the real impact these cases are having, or may have, on our local schools.”
Panelists included Special Education Chair Rebecca Young, with education litigators Sarah Modrick and Shorav Kaushik. The covered cases include Circle of Seasons Charter School v Northwestern Lehigh School District, Moorehead v Allentown School District, Ricketts v. Titusville Area School District and Pennsylvania School Boards Association, Inc. v. Mumin.
Huerta adds, “I get asked all the time why schools get sued… I think these cases we talked about today provide some great examples of the issues our school leaders face. Schools have employment issues, they have tax issues, they have special education and discipline matters. As solicitors, we are trying to help schools navigate all these things that can come up. That’s why we do what we do.”
